A small flatworm found in an aquarium for Chara culture (Ibaraki Pref., Honshû, Japan) was tentatively identified as Macrosomum gigas Okugawa, 1930 ?. Its chromosome number is 2x=6, with a karyotype of 2m + 2m + 2m.
